Asiea Naqash Visits Hazratbal Shrine | KNO

SRINAGAR, MAY 22 (KNO) : Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash today visited Hazratbal shrine to review the progress on various components of Rs 45 crore Hazratbal Beautification Project. 

The Minister also visited Sabzi Mandi and Dhobi Ghat areas of Hazratbal to identify the shops and structures that need to be repaired or removed. She said that the structures affected in this process would be properly relocated and rehabilitated. She said that various vendors and fishermen families at Dhobi Ghat would also be relocated and rehabilitated and space will be used for public conveniences.

While taking stock of the developmental work, she said that the Shrine and its surroundings are being beautified in such a way that it would become as one of the main centres of pilgrim tourism in the state. She stressed for installing proper lighting system, landscaping and beatification in and around the shrine premises in accordance with scientific principles. Naqash asked the officials to improve the ambience of this place by giving a facelift to the banks of Dal Lake around the shrine and landscaping the parks.

Stressing on meeting the set deadline, the Minister directed the officials for employing synergized efforts to complete the project by the end of this year. The Minister was accompanied by Vice Chairman of J&K Wakf Board Nizamuddin Bhat, DDC Srinagar, Vice Chairman LAWDA, Chief Engineers and other officers.
